Onan won,t stay running unless you hold the start switch in let it go and generator dies and blows 5 amp fuse.

You either have a shutdown thats tripping you up,like a bad low oil psi switch or(possible) high temp switch.....or you are the recipeient of the lovely curse of
NO AC output.
im leaning toward an output problem though $$ to doughnuts
i dunno how savy you are,but a multimeter is very handy.
its nice to try and check output at the gen while trying to run it.
does it have a circuit reaker on the gen,or a j box that the gen is tied into?
access at an easy point for checking ac output.
do i have to say be careful and dont stand in water while holding a gas can and smoking while checking output?
get a helper,so you can hold the meter while they try to start it.
im a standby gen tech, but ive had to "dabble " in rvs from time to time.ive probably have worked on those and id know it if i saw it.

if no output, you need to test.
it involves stuff like checking resistances on the rotor+stator, and brushes if it has those +possibly "flashing" the unit while checking for output.if its no output,id post a new thread
