I own a '96 southwind and hadn't started it for awhile. I didn't have any power to the ignition so I replaced the starter battery but I still don't have any power to the ignition, no dash lights, no headlights.
Please help.
I spent 3 hours one day recently, pulling the starter, checking the batts. and going up and down the wiring.
The problem was that while I was having coffe in the drivers seat one camp morn I accidently pushed down on the shift lever and moved it just far enough that it had disengaged the the safety switch. So check this and also the wiring to the switch could be faulting. Good luck
Hi! check fuseble links at stater solenoid.Note you can not see it burn from the in side.but you can feel it, or try to pull it(one at time) pos.two small fuseble links wire @ the stater solenoid.Good luck
Have the same problem,with a 1967 chevy camero,250 six cylender. new battery,checked and cleaned all grounds,new battery cable.new points,condenser, distributor,plugs,wiring,and rotar button.
engine will turn by using screw driver on solonoid, but will not run. is there an in line fuse link? if the wiring on the solonoid was crossed, would that cause such problem. the car is just as if there was no battery in it at all. could reverse polarity be the problem?
