We have 34' Damon Daybreak. The house batteries will only charge when the engine is running. When we hooked up to 30 amp land power, it does not switch over.
1. When hooked up to 30 service, the house batteries do not switch over. The lights go dim and we have to run the engine to power up.
2. We then hooked up our new TV to the cable at the RV Resort and it worked for a day then picture got fuzzy and went out totally. We had park maintenance check Cable TV at connection and it was good. When I disconnected the cable from the switch ( cigarette lighter/ cable connector ), I burned my hand on a hot cable connector. I pulled it out and it sparked and melted the cable casing. I disconnected the cigarette lighter and ran the cable directly from the park hook up to the the RV. The TV works again.
3. We then had a problem that both the carbon monozide and LP gas detectors were beeping off and on continually indicating a fault and my guess low voltage.
4. The last thing that happened was that the front engine AC also quit cooling and fan started clattering. I guess the compressor or fan going out.
I think that all but the engine AC may stem fromn one problem....but what?
Question:
My DC Distribution Panel feels warm to the touch. On the very bottom, on the outside panel, it feels hot when I run my finger across it. It is not blowint fuses, everything is working fine. I had to put new battery in on outside because lights were flickering and fan in DC Distribution box was constantly running. Put the new battery in, and fan doesn't run, but below panel box feels hot, Is this Normal ?
