Keep blowing ecm fuse David 8-14-07
My 99 Silverado keeps blowing the ecm fuse when driving it in town, but it ran for 25+ minutes in my driveway with no problem. when I take it around the block it blows the fuse. any idea what it might be? I've checked the wires for a short, checked the fuel pump relay, and no luck. I'm about to remove the gas tank and replace the fuel pump. I was referred by someone who said that there might be a mechanic on this site that could help. Thanks in advance for any information....96K miles and only had to put on a new water pump til now. Please email me with any help...agsport (at) yahoo.com...thanks.

I just don't think its the fuel pump.Check the wiring diagrams and see if the pump and relay are fused, that would protect the Ecm fuse.I would look for one of the outputs that control relay circuits or injectors. You may have a nicked wire somewhere that is touching ground. Also might be just a bad ECM.Also look for a shorted diode in the alternator.Just acts like a nicked wire somewhere thats going to ground. Good Luck Mike
