My generator seems to run fine with 124 volt ac output, but it will not carry a load. I'm thinking it might be the voltage regulator but I hate to take a $160 shot in the dark. Thanks for any help you can give. Joe

You say its not holding a load but is the generator struggling to run? Usually if a generator can't hold a load its because the engine isn't running properly. If your generator is twin cylinder make sure both are working. Could be Governor or fuel problem.
