I just replaced the starter w/ a new (tested) starter. Now, NOTHING works, won't turn over, no electrical/guages/etc. even on ALT, there's not even the 'hum' you sometimes here prior to an engine starting. Main battery shows a good charge; the two deep cycle batteries needed charged but are now. The 'house' electricals only work when it's plugged into the home ac system; generator won't start. Also the 'house' panel doesn't indicate that it's charging the batteries. I've looked at all the fuses and breakers I can find and they look okay. Was something thrown when installing the starter? I've heard about a fusible link - where is that and what am I looking for? How can I track the wiring from the battery or panel to wherever it goes. I see alot in this forum about bad grounds - how do I check that? I have the schematic from Fleetwood (and all the other books on all the other systems) but it doesn't show the fusible link, or the grounds per se.
Was everything working before installing the starter???? Is your rig on a Chevy P30 chassis?? Some years had the fuseable link at the starter and some had it at the alternator.Recheck all wires going to the starter you may have left one off.Do you have a test probe or meter to check voltages?? You can check for voltage at the starter motor relay switch when the key is in the start position. If no voltage at the relay check at the neutral start switch. Let us know what you finf. Good Luck Mike
