I have a '87 F-150 and it will not start. It'll turn over a couple of times but it is real sluggish. It acts like it may be the battery but I just put a new one in 2 days ago. Also after I try to start it the neg. side of battery post and the diode start to smoke pretty bad. Any ideas on what may be the problem?

Check all wires from Bat to starter, either a bad or loose connection, or starter is bad...dragging
