Post New Message There are usually two switches to control the step. One is a master switch that controls the power to the door switch. The door switch can either be a button type switch, or there could be a magnetic switch on the screen door. That one is hard to find sometimes. Also depending on what type of step you have there could be an override switch that retracts the step when the engine is started and/or the gear shift is moved out of park.
