|Suburban Heater SF-30 what is wrong?!||Lora||10-21-17|
|So I am currently working on a Suburban Heater SF-30. The first call was it comes on and blows but cold air....when I got there yes its blowing right along cold air and I could hear the electronic igniter trying to do its job by lighting the propane but no go. So I know that these things need to be cleaned and by the looks of finding a dead mouse that looked like king tut mummy after I took the back panel off I knew it did so I take it apart clean it make sure the igniter and the housing for it did not have any cracks and I got everything assembled went and fired it up and yes it all worked, then all of a sudden the thermostat started clicking, clicking and then it all died.....so trouble shot wires etc......everything tested out fine......so thought it was bad thermostat on the wall....with my customer telling me that has to be it....well got that on and nothing...so checked the circuit board and it did not do the clicking sound after I put the new dinosaur circuit board on everything seemed fine.....well I left and now the clicking clicking sound constantly is back in the thermostat....and I have run out of any clue what it could be........could there be a short in the white wire that is for the heater that comes from Thermostat through the wall down to the heater that is not always showing up as low voltage or a short when its tested? Also is that clicking clicking really from low voltage like a bad battery or low battery??? That is what another technician said was going on so I am at a loss and need some tech to tech help here. If anybody else could give me an opinion or some help it would be appreciated.|
