I bought my first rv. How fast do these rvs go when going up a hill on the freeway? On flat ground it goes up to 70 in a heartbeat but up a hill it was 40. Do I have to downshift going up a steep hill or what? The transmission gears did what tthey are supposed to do but it was so slow going up a hill.

Wow you were pushing it to 70? Its really designed to be comfortable at 60 but ok.

Depending on the hill 40 is about it. Look around at the Semi trailers, if you are climbing at the same speed or just a little slower that's about right.
