Voltage problem kim 11-1-16  
I have a 1981 peterbilt 359 changed out batteries and now i get everything reading 24 volts to lights and panel board in the cab, I am at a loss please

I bet I know why

You originally had 6 volt starting batteries wired up to make a 12 volt system.

Now you have 12 volt batteries wired the same way so you have wired your batteries in series.

Review the wiring. All batteries should be positive to positive and negative to negative.

You will find you are missing a couple of cables to make it work
