Dining light Gene Allevato 7-9-16
Bought a 1987 Ford Glendale RV. The dining table light wasn't working and didn't have any bulbs but it was ugly so I wanted to replace it. Took it down and and capped the 2 wires with marretts and threw out the old fixture. I installed a standard kitchen dome light but it doesn't work so I was wondering if there is something special about the original fixture? Thanks
Re: Dining light Keith 7-9-16
Hi Gene, do you have power at the wires? AC or DC? RV companies used to use 110V AC fixtures with 12V DC bulbs. The bulbs looked like regular 110V incandescent bulbs. So if you have power and the correct bulbs installed it should work. Good luck One more question.... what's a marrett?

That probably explains why there wasn't any bulbs in the fixture when I bought the RV. This RV has very good bones and only 93,000 kms. Mechanically it is very sound however the interior was quite tired. Needless to say I am overhauling the entire interior so more than likely the bulbs burned out and never replaced. Thank you so much.

Hi again Gene, you're quite welcome. If you need the 12V frosted bulbs and can't find them locally, they're available on eBay. Good luck and have fun with your overhaul!
