110v power routing Dave 5-12-16
I have a problem with the 110 volt wire running from the junction box that ties into the shore power. The wire runs up in the right corner and has melted about 3 feet down from the ceiling. When I pulled the wire and found the damage I also found the when unit was assembled the drove a screw and staples into the wire. We have been using this for 11 years an have had no problems. We were out in long stretch of extremely heavy rain for a week when we smelled wires and found the wall was fairly warm. I do not want to replace it in the same routing. Do I have other options?

There are three things to consider.

Can you run it through cabinetry?

Can you run through the belly or under the trailer?

And could you run it trough the original routing? Often the answer is no because the trailer is built around the 110 volt wiring.

Anything is ok as long as it is done to code. Just use good sense and you will be fine.
