2000 Newmar, cat 3126B wont turn over Brian 4-26-16
Freightliner chassis with 3126b cat is not turning over. It started intermittent but now nothing. full charge on the batteries and all lights on dash. Is there a solenoid or something that triggers the starter??

As I don't have the wiring diagram for your chassis a general overiew:

Turning the key start causes a relay to feed power to the start terminal on the starter through at least 1 neutral safety switch that is likely a relay triggered by the allison automatic ECU

To Diagnose: Use a real test light, test the starter at the solinoid for power to both the main power cable and the small terminal (Start) when the ey is turned. Initialy hook the teat ligt to the starter body. If the main power cable goes of when the key is turned to the start position you have a bad chassis to engine ground (80% likely) or other main power to engine problem.

If the above tests good, and the test light lights when esdting small terminal, this means bad starter.

Now find the main chassis elctrical panel near the front of your unit. Probably in left front corner in an access door below te drivers window. Inside of the door or panel cover will be a electical legend to tell you what component dos what.

Start your next tests here.

Good luck
