Generac np40 will not stay running jeff weyer 6-30-15
I have a generac np 40 in my motorhome. I had a problem with one of the starter bolts coming out. I had to completely disassemble the generator to repair the starter motor. After reassembly. It seemed to work. It would run for a while and then just stop. Physically checked as much as I could, i.e. resistance checks of the stator using a VOM all those checks seem to be fine, did the read resistance checks of the genistor again, those all checked fine. Thought maybe it was the CCG board and replaced it along with the engine control module. It still does the same thing. It starts, it goes through its first 6 to 8 second timeout period and then shuts down after that the timeout period is about two seconds. Occasionally it would seem to run like normal. Some of the checks we did before replacing the boards was checking the voltage and Hz. The voltage seem to be a little erratic and the hertz was in the 500 range. Looking for any suggestions just don't know if it's worth throwing good money into this anymore. Unfortunately it's very hard to find anybody local that works on RV generators. Thanks in advance for any comments
ps don't know if it's worth buying a genistor or if maybe the Stator has a problem.
