Bought a 86 southwind with 24k miles. Wouldnt hold a charge so had new converter put in cause found 12v side burned out. brought it home first night everything worked, it is plugged in, but the second night tried to turn everything on and do some cleaning, the front air stopped, tv stopped, lights dimmed and blinked back and forth, and refrig quit working. let it rest a while then tried again and same thing, wouldnt work. i am new at this and wonder if anyone has an idea before i take it back to the service ctr. julia

A normal household outlet is usually 15 amps. It seems you are trying to run two ac units plus other appliances. A normal rv park outlet is 30 amps. With two ac units you might need a 50 amp outlet. Shut off your ac units and see if lights and refrig work.

After reading your post again, I need to give you more information. Your frig needs 12volts to operate regardless if you are on propane or ac. Also your thermostat most likely needs battery voltage to turn your air on and off. And as you know,your lights operate on 12 volts. Its seems like your converter could be ruined again from something on your 12 volt side drawing to much current.

What are you plugged into? Are you plugged directly into a good outlet with an adapter or is it hooked to cheap orange extension cord. You are working with two circuts one being 110V AC and the other being 12V DC. If you don't have a good AC power source and you are trying to run a TV, A/C, lights, a power converter trying to charge your coach battery, probably a vacuum cleaner, and by the sounds of it, you have a 110V AC refrigerator on a limited power source, you are asking too much of the system. You need more like 30 to 35 amps to run everything you are trying to run. Do you have a generator? Have you tried to run all these things with the generator running if you have one?
