The EV Series Honda generators do in fact have a Honda generator powering them, but the generator is another make. I have been reserved with the performance of mine. A blown control box and now a shorted Stator. My unit is stationary in a controlled environment. No salt, dirt, sand, oil etc. No signs of overheating, the Stator looks like brand new, yet it's junk. Hinklin has my order for a military grade rewind and am still waiting after almost 4 months for it's delivery. I would never install anything else considering the poor service received from the first factory Stator.
