Black wire is...? Gary 10-1-08
Okay, so I committed the ultimate electrical sin- I didn't label the wire when I took it off the post. On my '02 Coleman Sun Valley pop-up there is a small black wire (10 gauge?) coming from a group of three wires- one white (6 gauge?), one red (6 gauge?), and this black one. The red was attached to the positive terminal of the battery, the white to the negative terminal. I'm pretty sure the black also came off the negative terminal but not 100% sure. I've actually tried the functions on the trailer with the wire on both terminals separately (I know, that's dumb too) and nothing is effected, nothing happens, nothing runs or doesn't run, and there's no current in it-- so I can't figure out what it's for and whether it's a power wire (normally black on trailers) or a ground wire (normally on cars). I can't tell if the wire comes out of the towing bundle either as that goes into the frame. It might be to or from the electric brakes detach unit, which has two black wires coming out of it (normally blue aren't they?) but I can't tell where those go either. Whew! Anyone understand all this? Anyone have an idea of what the black wire might be? Thanks for any ideas you might have.

If there is a red pos. wire then the black should go to ground, unless it was added in after the trailer was built. if it dosnt control anything then it most likely is a ground.
