1988 Journey J35 Motorhome John 5-5-08
We just purchased a 1988 Journey J35 motorhome with only 29K miles. On the way home something shorted out and caught fire. We were able to get it out quickly and already had insurance on it...the problem is finding someone to rewire it. Most places won't touch it because of the year. Other places have said they can fix it if they have the wiring diagram...any idea where I can find that since Journey is no longer in business?
Thank you!
Re: 1988 Journey J35 Motorhome BUBBA THE BUS TECH 5-5-08
The real question is what portion of the unit caught fire? Chassis wiring will be available from John Deere, Ford Chev etc. There was never a wiring diagram available for the house portion. Good Luck
Re: 1988 Journey J35 Motorhome Jen 5-5-08
This is Johns wife, Jen.
It was the wires in the motor. The fire dept said it could have been from field mice chewing because it had been sitting for a while. The insulation burned a bit and then a little under the dashboard. Fire dept also said the positive cable on the battery was loose. There was a John Deere Chassis book in the RV so I'm going to do some searching now.

Thank you for your help!
