Re: Jayco JTX 26 Ft. Winterization/dewinterization by BUBBA THE BUS TECH
Post New Message We don't work on Jayco but in general. To dewinterize. If you only camp hooked to services skip the first instruction. Find the water pump. To find the water pump turn it on and follow the noise(thats how we find them on unfamiliar units). Check to see that it is hooked to the water pickup line and if it is hooked to a winterization valve that it is in the open position in line with the pick up line. Cap or turn off/close all the drains under the trailer. I have no idea how many you have or where. The fresh tank probably has a drain. The water lines in the trailer may have drains. These all need to be closed off. Fill the fresh water tank 1/2 or more full or hook the garden hose to the city water conection on the trailer. Open a cold water tap and start the pump or if hooked to city water turn on garden hose. Flush the lines starting with one faucet and work to the other end of the trailer. don't forget to flush both hot and cold. Once no more anti freeze comes out go out side and put the plug in the bottom of your H20 heater and then go inside again and change your by pass over on the back of your H20 heater. It may be a one two or three valve by pass at this point just reverse the position of all the valves in the back of the h20 heater. Turn on a hot faucet and get all the air out of the H20 heater. Clean up any antifreeze splater as it will stain your plastic sinkd etc. To winterize Remove the lower plug from the H20 heater. Reverse the by pass. Hook a winterization line to water pump or winterization kit. Put the end of the line into the antifreeze and turn on the pump. Run each faucet and fixture untill the pink comes out. Do the toilet valve three times. Dump a cup of antifreeze down all sinks tubs and shower drains. CLean up the mess as above. Store the plug for the H20 heeater some where you can find it. Crawl under the trailer and drain all drains, low point and tank. Done.
