2001 Ford F53 Motorhome Chassis ABS Light Preston 11-4-07
Hi!

Mt ABS light comes on sporadically on my motor home with 45000 miles

Dealer's OBDII reader tells me that the brake fluid is low - if this is not the case then replace the $700 ABS module

Of course my fluid level is good. Before I commit to paying for the module up front (no return, no guarantee that problem will be fixed), I wa swondering if any one else has run into this problem
Re: 2001 Ford F53 Motorhome Chassis ABS Light JR 11-6-07
I have the same problem on an older model rv. I took mine to a couple of places. Ultimately, they determined that the brake linings are fine -- about 70% left. Recently I spoke with a person who had the module replaced and he said that the ABS light continued to come on sporadically for him even with this done. Could be a wiring problem??? That is much more expensive than the module. For me -- I'll just live with the light coming on once and awhile. As long as the brakes are fine, that is what counts. That is what stops the rv.

ABS light on and speedometer doesn't work. Sometimes shuts off on left turn. 1999 Monaco Holiday Rambler F53. Dealer says it needs a ABS module $1300. Anyone have the same problem?

I live in N.Z. and have had the same problem on a 1999 Mirada with F53 chassis
The problem was the rear ABS pickup mounted on top of the diff Replaced and no more problems. It should be able to be checked out with the OBD2 Scanner

Re: 2001 Ford F53 Motorhome Chassis ABS Light D. Brown 5-10-14
We have a 2010 Newmar Canyon Star, 3920 on a Ford F-53 chassis. We are driving in Alabama and the brakes have been getting very hot. The ABS light is on and had to stop to let them cool down. When we did stop I jacked up the front of the vehicle and attempted to roll the wheels by hand and they were frozen. After severaL hours they freed. Can or Would the ABS light be indicative of a bigger problem or am i missing something?
