The auto park brake on my 93 Pace Arrow quit braking a year ago, leaving me blocking the wheels every time I parked. A mechanic I found while on the trip found a sticking switch which he teased free with lubricant and the brake has worked OK since. This switch is activated mechanically when the gearshift lever moves from Park to a gear.
Now I wish to continue lubricating the errant switch before it sticks again but without removing the left front wheel and considerable other stuff I can't see the switch. Does anyone know how this lubrication can more easily be done?
Vern, Everything works normally now. But neither the auto park lite nor the AP brake worked when the switch was sticking. Everything else worked normally at that time including the manually operated park brake.
I had my shift cable replaced last yearon my 1997 Iyasca on a P 30 chassis after it froze up an I could not shift out of park. Now when I go into reverse the auto brake comes on and I can't back up. I.ve had my Chevy dealer try to adjust the lenght of the cable with no luck. They say a switch on the steering collum is at fault and they can't get one. any one out there have an idea?
Thanks Harry
I have a 2000 Damon challenger on a workhorse chassis. I drove a couple of miles with the auto park brake on. Now it doesn't seem to completely engage and need to chalk the tires everytime.
Is there an adjustment I can do, or do you have any other suggestions.

There is an adjustment on the auto brake It is just in front of the auto brake unit under your motorhome and will require two 3/4" wrenches to adjust. You will see the adjustment as a long ( six inch) 3\4 inch nut with a cable fistened to it..
