P30 Automatic Parking Brakes Joe 7-15-07
I recently got stuck with my auto brake engaged. Thanks to this forum I got the part numbers and I hope to get this thing fixed soon. I wont bore y'all with the details but I wanted to share some info. At the Workhorse.com site, I was able to download the RV chassis guide which gave me info, pictures and a schematic of the system. Check out pages 78 - 81.

Being on the road and away from home with my whole family broken down on the side of the road, I had to come up with a solution to get home. The Pressure maintenance switch was leaking ATF fluid out very quickly. I could only go about 5 miles before the fluid leaked out and I was stuck again. I disconnected the connection to the switch and removed the switch with a 9/16th wrench. I then plugged up the hole to the sensor and put it back together. This got me home. Please be aware that since you effectively bypassed the switch, you need to stop and reset the system every so often because the pump does not know to cycle back on. In other words stop and put it in park and then back to drive again every 30 miles or so. I am NOT a mechanic and I am not recommending this procedure but it did get me and my family home to where I could work on the problem with out getting taken for a ride.
