Hi, I have a horse trailer that has a light in the interior of the trailer with a light switch. The problem I'm having is that even though I hook up my truck to it, I can't turn on the light. I have a 2001 Chevy Duramax. My cousin has a 1999 ford super duty and it works when he hooks up. I have the 7 pin on my truck. Is there a fuse that's possibly not in or maybe burnt out? I've tried to look under the dash at that fuse box and under the hood but I couldn't find and I don't know exactly what I'm looking for. Please help. Oh yeah everything else on the trailer works.
Look at the plug cover on his truck, & there is a pin marked +, that's the one which bring power to the light inside the trailer. On the chevy the power need to come at the same pin, test it with a test light. May be it's not hook up on the chevy or a fuse is blowned. Your owner manual should tell you where is the fuse & which one. Chevy don't give much infos for trailer wiring.

I have the same problem with the power/hot circuit to the trailer on a 2001 gas 2500. GM dealer could not answer the question. The vehicle manual says it is in the line and the dealer thought in the fuse box under the hood. So now we are "tracing"...
