Jayco PopUp Brakes dragging Chuck 5-12-06
I think that my brakes are hung up. I have a 1997 Jayco J1208 Pop up with hydraulic brakes. I am looking for some decent documentation on how they function (how they are actuated). I want to see if there is something that could be holding them applied. The trailer sat almost for 2 years without any use. I has been pulled for 2 20 mile trips (stop and go traffice) before I bought it. When I got it home, I could smell brake lining and the wheels were HOT.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Chuck

You can check your brake system--
Prehaps some rust got into your lines, or another obstruction, causing the brakes to stay on. Not letting the fluid return to cylinder.

Or prehaps your break-a-way switch may be partially engaged.

Also, be aware that Jayco has had a recall on hydraulic brake hoses.

If I may be of assistance please contact me
I am starting my 28 year as a Jayco dealer,
