I just bought an Airstream motorhome from a private party. The auto brake is not working. I found out the hard way. Is there an honest mechanic in the San Fernando Valley or anywhere near Los Angeles California that is capable of fixing this problem?

Several things (minor) that can be checked out by you before spending big bucks,what doesn't work ? release or not engage? operated from gearshift or lever, glad to try and help.

It is not that difficult to work on if you have decent mechanical skills. I just did a complete rebuild on mine and the hardest part was finding a source for the replacement parts besides GM/Chevrolet. Contact me for more information about it and I think I can tell you how to diagnose the problem, get parts, or find a qualified repair shop in your area. I have a set of factory GM manuals for the P30 (1995-up chassis) and might be able to assist you with more help there. The auto brake on my 1998 Challenger just locked up. I had it towed to a truck repair shop after disconnecting the drive shaft, but now the shop says they cannot locate any diagrams or other info on the system. Does anyone have any schematics, parts info etc. you could send me? Any help woiuld be greatly appreciated. Thanks much.

When I park my 33 ft airstream on my driveway upslope the autobrake does not want to release. On level ground it appears to work OK. Any Help?3s7ff

Help!! I am stranded at DeFuniak Springs, FL. I stoped for 20 minutes and when I started to pull off the auto park would not release. I replaced the two hydrolic valves/switches in November o7. What can and how can I temporarlly release the auto park to drive the unit home. The unit is a 96 Winnebago Adventurer on a P-30 with a 454 engine. I need immediate help please. Thanks Bo

Hello, I have a 1999, P-30 Chevy class A with an auto park problem. My mechanic has rebuilt and replaced the brake and sensors. He says the unit now runs continually when started. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Larry 99' 26 foot Rexhall Vision 454.

My Dad have a 1998 P-30 chassis motor home. He is on vacation in Myrtle Beach and needs to find someone to work on it, do you have any information on anyone in that area that can do it? Or do you know anyone in the Chattanooga TN area so he can get it worked on when he gets home. Thanks

I could really use this help...I have a 1998 Pace Arrow Vision built on a 1997 chassis that I believe to be a P30...I have now disconnected the auto park, before I disconnected it, it locked up and wouldn't allow the unit to move. Before I disconnected the hydraulic unit would cycle on and off and the auto park light was on all the time. Thanks in advance for the help. Andrew

I have a 1993 mtrhome on a Chevrolet P-30 Chassis. The Power steering and power hydraulic brakes failed.I am looking for a 1993 manual for this chassis or some technical info on how to repair. Can you provide any info or where it can be obtained. Thank You Roy Lane

Jim Ellerman or anyone who has solved this: My '84 P30 motorhome parking brake doesn't work (the hand lever you pull up on to engage). is this tied to the autobrake system also? i have the drum in the back of the transmission, but not aware of it ever working. at least it doesn't brake when moving. thanks.
