I have inherited a 1974 Condor-II Ford V8 on M-504 chassis.
This rig has sat for 8yrs and started up after prep just fine. The parking brake was set full and when I let it off the brakes went to the floor when I tested. I started looking for where to check fluid? I cannot find a clue, I can see the master cylinder mounted vertical above the petal under the dash instrument panel, the pressure line comes out the bottom and the brake petal rod pushes down from top. I cannot see a tube or anything else connected but there has to be a way to get to this or a remote fill. Can anyone help?
Thanks
Ok thanks wrench, I have cut 2 access holes to see this master cyl there is no fill hole and I traced the line back to a booster unit at least looks like one and there is a cyl there that has a 1/4 plug in the top of it. The cyl is cast and looks much like a master cyl. This chassis is for trucks to 12,000 gross this booster is behind the auto tranny up in the inner frame cavity along side the drive shaft. Appreciate any help I am out in the boonies so gotta figure this out.
Thanks Cy
I have just bought a 2000 condor r vision 34ft.motorhome.I am wondering about a couple of items. Is there a way to tighten down the dash and it seems like you have to push the brake pedal real hard to stop.It only has 11000 miles on it.Any help would be appreacated. Thanks.
OK you may have a bendix remote booster, I got 2 in a 72 bluebird, had to replace both of them. If that is the setup, the master cylinder active the remote booster, witch feed the wheel cylinder. Don't uncrew that 1/4 plug on the top, It may be the lock pin for the piston. Read what I found & had to do to have good brake on mine: http://www.vintagebirds.com/ go to fixes, go down 38 page, or look for (brake pedal spongy). But THERE HAS TO BE A WAY TO FILL TH MC. no way around it.

I have a 73 Condor11 you have to slide open the boot on the master cyclender and top off the fluid.
Dont try to bleed the break system yourself. I have to have a moblie truck mechanic come out and use a vacume system to get pressue in the breal line.
I would like to see some pictures of your Condor. I think we are possibly the only 2 to have one in the country.
I found that feeding the fluid back throught the system from the rear bleed ( back breacks) allways works and usaly theres no air in the system so on the main boster put a hose on the over flow plug and pressure the system ( bendix and midlands )
The easiest way I have found is to use a turkey baster or a females cleansing douche and pump fluid into the master cylinder, the only other way is to stand on your head and use a small bottle and pour it in.
Hi,
I just saw your message listed on the internet and thought I would give it a shot since it's from 2006.
We also have a 2000 R-Vision Condor 34' motorhome. We are getting ready to leave on vacation this thursday and the master cylinder for the breaks just went!
My husband called workhorse to ask about the part but they only gave him their part # which does not help me. I was just wondering if by any chance you knew the part # for the master cylinder on your motorhome. I know it's a shot in the dark, but it's worth a shot.
Thanks a lot,
Tere Fiori
My question is about the same as the person's above. I have a 2004 R Vision Condor 34' and the master cylinder is out. My mecanic says he is having trouble getting one. Please help.
