Electrical problem on 2003 Chevy Cavalier Candy White 12-12-04
Please help. I have a 2003 Cavalier whose dinger warning that you've left your keys in the ignition or left lights on is not working. Also the driver side speaker went out at the same time. At first the problems were intermittent but now they are both not working permanently. We are planning to give our college age son the car for Christmas and he is absent-minded so we especially need to get the dinger fixed. My husband has looked at it but the wiring is quite a maze I guess. Any help will be very much appreciated as since I am disabled we are on a fixed income.

Thank you and Happy Holidays!

Mine went out when I had a stereo installed. Half a dozen repair shop "by the way" questions later, it turns out it needed a Metro GM Class 2 Interface which is some kind of bybass to the speakers so you can get the warning sound. I had to spend $75 to get it installed, which is probably why the original stereo shop neglected to put it in. In any case, my 4 year old Cavalier is having serious electrical problems after 85,000 miles. (Not that it's necessarily related to my stereo system).
