|P30 Automatic parking brake||Lee Wilson||2-3-11|
P30 automatic parking brake used on many RVs May be known as WorkHorse,Bendix or Haldex. P30 is the chevy version but was used on many others. Obsolete now because of lawsuits and all the problems. I recomend removing the automatic parking brake and use the manual lever,the manual brake activates the same brake on the back of the transmission. If you ever need a trans mission i would get the transmission with the built in parking brake. The automatic parking brake used on the 90s and earlier versions are dangerous!!!!

If you remove it then you now have a legai issue if you get in an accident. Contact oldusedbear on Rv.net or IRV2.com. He has an entire Autopark library he helped me fix not remove mine while on speaker phone. Don't take a chance fix it right the first time.

Old transmissions with (parking pawl) WILL NOT HOLD THE WEIGHT OF A HEAVIER RV,that's why auto park was installed on them---transmissions were splitting open from the strain.and the rv was rolling away.
get your facts first.before someioine gets killed from jury rigging something that weights over 14,000 lbs.

I HAVE A 1998 PACE ARROW AND DIDNT KNOW UNTIL RECENTLY AFTER STOPPING TO GET SOME GAS THAT MY RV STARTED ROLLING AWAY FROM THE PUMPS. I HAVE INSTALLED 2 NEW PRESSURE VALVES AND 1 NEW RELAY AND STILL IT DOESNT DO ANYTHING. I DRAIN THE RESIVOR, BECAUSE IT LOOK LIKE SOMEONE ADDED BRAKE FLUID INSTEAD OF TRANSMISSION FLUID. I CHECKED THE PUMP AND IT WORKS AND THERE IS ELECTRIC GETTING TO THE RELAY. BUT THE MOTOR DOESNT MAKE A SOUND AND THE CABLE COMING OUT OF THE END OF THE MOTOR DOESNT MOVE ONE BIT................I SURE NEED SOME HELP

I highly recommend Jose Crespo to rebuild the actuator. I just had the actuator of my RV rebuilt and the unit works better than new. Jose was incredibly honest, helpful and knowledgeable. Before I even send the actuator to him, he gave me “FREE” troubleshooting info. Who does that nowadays?
I only had 2 options:
Option 1: Rebuild my actuator with Jose Crespo for $450.00 (free shipping) for a P/N R1PT40H actuator with 5 years warranty, and the turnaround was only 3 days.
Option 2: Purchase a new unit from GM at $1,586.94 (plus sales tax and shipping cost) with only 1 year warranty and delivery of 4-6 weeks.
If you need help contact Jose Crespo at (305) 218-8875 or via email at P30ACTUATOR@AOL.COM
