|P-30 park brake||David Knight||9-15-10|
I have a 98 Airstream on the P30 chassis and have had continual problems with the park brake, my latest will cost $2300.00 as it locked up on me and wore out the drum I had no choice but too drive it home that way. From all I'm reading I think GM needs to address this issue

They will never address it---
personally I don't like it---but---is can be a good system if maintained,IE; checking the Dextron oil in the AUTO-PARK tank
in 12 years I have replaced the green switch twice-= 15961566 Green switch vehicles that weigh 16,000 and more the (OLD) parking pawl when parked on a hill the transmission just couldn't hold the weight and the trans would explode from the strain.

Is your actuator leaking?
We offer rebuilt services with 5 YEARS LIMITED WARRANTY on all rebuilt actuators.
We offer a better warranty than GM.

Go to Rv.net and post a message for oldusedbear he is an expert in the P30 autoparkbrake and may save you a ton of cash, try to do the work yourself first then look at a service center it may be your last resort. But it's better to spend a couple hours on your back under the rig with Roger on the phone diagnosing the issue then if you can't physically do the work you at least know what you should have to pay for.
