Help identify braking component? Doon 9-10-10
30'C Class 1987 Ford chassis with tag axle. On the drive axle pig a bracket holds one end of a scissoring linkage which is supposed to attached to the shaft of a braking component mounted above on the chassis. The component is circular, roughly 3" and perhaps 1.5" thick. Brake hoses enter and exit the component. One side of this compnent has a 1/4" shaft with knurling; the shaft can be twirled. The other end of the scissoring linkage is supposed to attach to the knurled shaft..which appears to be broken off just outboard the knurling. What is the name/function of the component with the broken shaft? I've no idea how to buy a new one without knowing what it is or does. Thank you.
