2008 Dodge Grand Caravan AC Bradley Cobb 6-19-10
I have a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan and the AC is out as well. I noticed on here that there is supposedly a recall on the AC hose and that Dodge will fix for free. I took it to my local Dodge dealer and they told me they know nothing about the recall and couldn't help me without charging me alot of money. I took it to Sears and they recharged the system and it worked great for two days. Can anyone provide me with a site that can help me confirm this recall so I can print it off and follow up with DODGE. THANKS

There's a recall on the 2008-9 caravan
for the A\C discharge hose being too
short and needs a longer one to allow
play with engine movements,I had mine
replaced yesterday at the dealer with
no charge, had the recall in the mail
last week, now maybe because my van
was purchased April 9 -09 I can't
see why the ones purchased earlier
would not be recall,I also hear you
can get it fix elsewhere and bring
the bill to the dealer, but don't
quote on that.
If you live in the USA and the dealer
won't help,your're better off buying
the tools and do it yourself as it's
easy,2 bolts to replace hose.

(I already posted somewhere on this site, so maybe a duplicate).

Bradley, the recall is true and my fleet rep (this is a company car) told me that Chrysler had loads of complaints in 2009, but they only figured to make it full blown recall this year. It may have been issued in May, or maybe only a couple of weeks old. Regardless, I have not received notice to take timely action and now that my AC is out have to wait 2-3 weeks for the part to be delivered to a local dealer. I called other dealerships and they all are back ordered.
