Auto park brake Walter Barron 8-28-09
Our 98 Brave auto park brake is locked up. We Backed into our driveway late Weds night and went to move in Thurs morning and the brake is locked up and it will not move. We didnot even engage the parking brake as our driveway is level. I have read some of the other messages and leads me to check the fuse. please tell me where to find it under the dash. Thank you any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem with the auto park brake as you!

Pulling into my driveway the auto park brake locked up when I put the brakes. I immediately assumed I had to replace the switches again, as they go bad quite frequently. While replacing the switches I noticed oil dripping from the actuator… called around and was told I needed to replace the auto park brake actuator. I was told at the dealer that when the actuator has a leak the system will lock up as it doesn’t hold pressure to disengage the auto park brake. If you are experiencing the same situation you may want to take a close inspection of the actuator also check to make sure the hydraulic oil reservoir is full. I saw another posting with the information of Jose Crespo I contacted him via email @ p30actuator@aol.com, he provided instruction to remove, package and ship the actuator to him. He rebuilt my actuator last week. AWESOME SERVICE AND PRICE! The minute I installed it the auto park brake began to work immediately. I highly recommend this guy!
