2008 39' weekend warrior brake problems amber 8-20-09
Does anybody know or have the same problem and how to fix it? I have a 2008 2500hd Chevy Z71 and towing a 39' 5th wheel weekend warrior. for the last 6 months my brake control keep saying short, or overload or it will just work when ever it wants. It is very scary driving this like this but nobody knows what is wrong with it. I have had it looked at 3 times and it is in shop again today because i was leaving to drive up north 9 hours and it started not working again and they still do not knwo what is wrong. they have tried other trucks with it, other controllers and have checked the lines and still noting. I am so frustrated. Please help me!!

DId you take your trailer in when they were checking the problem? Have you pluged your truck into other trailers and the problem did not move? If the answer to these questions is yes and you are sure they checked the trailer properly you will probably find the magnets have been over heated and are damaged. Have seen three sets this summer this way, check good in the shop but short as soon as used. Remember this is just a guess and only trained techs should make diagnoses and only when acctually looking at and testing the unit. Good Luck

Hi bubba. Yes i took it in and plugged to other trailers and they checked all lines and brakes. Truck is fine they say it is the trailer but cant figure out what. I am going to call them righ now and have them check the magnets. This is the 3rd time i have taken it in for the same problem and they cant find anything wrong but they see what its doing. Thanks for the good luck

Hello I had the same thing going on with my trailer (08 28ft 5th wheel tow with 06 f250) the brakes work when they wont and faulty code. The trailer dealer told me that the problem was with the truck not the trailer, I took the truck to the Ford dealer the the dealer told me that the the truck was good. I took it upon myself to check all the brake wireing on the trailer I did a complete brake job (change pads and turnd my drums) along with adjusting my brakes. After all that the problem was gon.... Try to adjust your brakes first..
