P-30 park brake replacement Logan 11-14-08
Does anyone have info on a manual reploacement for the P-30 hydraulic/electric operated parking brake. I am going to convert this system into a manual operated lever that controls the cable to the brake drum. My RV is on a 1999 Chec chassis with a drum on the drive shaft. Any advice?

Auto park light blinks and brakes have locked.

If you could turn me on to any resourses for this fix you are going to attempt, PLEASE let me in on it.

My 2000 Georgetown is setting "dead in the water" in my driveway.

Thanks a million for any info.

Go to http://www.rvmechanic.com/current_category.2176/Forum.53029/forum_thread_full.html

for a substantive discussion about this parking brake. Also, go to Workhorse site (assuming you have a Chevy engine); you will find a manual about your chassis, in the PARTS MANUALS section(You will have to register to get the download).

You probably need a pressure valve still available through GM dealers.

The brake, which sits behind the transmission, must have oil pressure to release; it can be disabled; without oil pressure to release it in drive, it stays set and the RV won't move...
