My 97 4x4 Tahoe had transfer case problems, (jumping out of reverse),I failed to properly diagnose the problem and overhauled the transmission before I replaced the synchronizers on the transfer case. After 600 miles of excellent performance the 4l60e transmission is not shifting to hi gear. I have replaced the tcc valve and wire harness, installed a trans co kit, both solenoids. I went back in it and check all the clutches. However I did not replaced the torque converter. A transmission specialist is telling me the the torque converter is the problem. I don't understand why he is saying this because the stall rpm is occurring at the right torque. I have ordered a trouble-shooting book to help me with the problem. It not a money issue I am a senior and have mechanic all my life. I will be going back into it until I get the problem fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
