Transmission Dave 1-26-08
My wife has a 95 gran prix, and it does move in reverse but makes a loud clicking noise. But it moves in the drive gear, but for only a little while. Any ideas?
Re: transmission Jim Akridge 2-2-08
Dave,

It sounds like your bands and clutches are going out in the transmission. Alot of transmission when they go out will still have the reverse operating but forward gears
won't.
But at the sAME TIME SINCE THE NEWER VEHICLES HAVE COMPTERIZED TRANSMISSION, they may be some solenoids that needs to be changed such as the shifting ones, TCC, one which engages the torgcontvert, ect.
This is all this info I can offer
you regarding these compterized trans.

Is it necessary to remove cross member to change fluid? Front pan bolts are above cross member.
any info greatly appreciated.
