I had a fuel shut off solonid problem on my '96 Newmar diesel motorhome that would not allow me to go but about 45 mph on the level. Local mechanics could not figure out the problem so I had to limp about 200 miles with the throttle peddle all the way to the floor to a Cummins repair facility that found and fixed the problem. The transmission was in 4th gear most of the way. Going down hill it would shift into 5th if I let up on the throttle a little bit. Now that I have the engine fixed it goes great except the transmission seems slow to shift betwee 4th and 5th gear. After it gets into 5th, the shift to 6th is normal. Is this a transmission learning problem and what can be done about it? Thanks.
Probably a block learn thing, it can be cleared but I would ask an alison expert how, remember if you do clear the learned values it will shift poorly for 5 to twenty shift cycles for each gear.
Good Luck
