I have a problem when the box is cold it shifts like a dream for app 35 miles.
Iwill then shit it into 3rd and back into 4th when it goes into 4th you can fell a slight shift but not complete until i take my foot off the gas and then press the gas again then the rpm climbs and eventualy will lock into 4th. We have removed the tranny 4times and the clutches are not burnt still new please can any body help.

Sorry to disappoint you but it was not the converter. We changed the tranny but not the converter and all was ok. When we had time we stripped the tranny down again and found that the accumulator piston where the pin goes thur had worn egg shape reassembled the tranny put in new car and all was 100%
you should have left it to someone who knew what was happening instead of pulling it out so many times.
thatis the lock up torque converter engaging.its supposed to drop rpm.converter is controlled electronically.throttle position sensor will cut it on and off
MY 98 CHEVY TRUCK TRANY IS BAD (4L60E).THE JUNK YARD SAYS ONLY A 98 WILL FIT.ON EBAY THEY LIST 93-2000 WILL WORK.I'VE SEEN A 12 AND 13 PLUG TYPE.WHATS UP WITH ALL THIS?CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT WILL WORK?

I HAVE A 1996 GMC 1500 4X4 PICKUP, THE AUTOMATIC SHIFTS THROUGH ALL THE GEARS GREAT,BUT WHEN IT IS IN OVERDRIVE, IT SOMETIMES STARTS JEARKING LIKE IT IS'T FULLY IN GEAR, YOU CAN LET OFF THE GAS A LITTLE, OR GIVE IT MORE GAS AND IT QUITS, IT IS LIKE A CERTAIN PLACE YOU HAVE THE THROTTLE WHEN IT IS IN OVERDRIVE IT DOES IT. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME, OR COULD MY PROBLEM ALSO BE THE TPS.
