A friend re built the transmission for me and we reinstalled it in the motorhome. Then engine is a 440 dodge.
After installation we put 6 qts of trany fluid in and ran the engine for a minute and the turned of the engine and began to put the rest of the fluid in. After about two quarts the fluid began to flow out the flywheel cover. I lost about 1 qt of fluid after putting in about two more quarts. I was told we probably did not have the torque converter completely in. What do I do now? Can I get it set in place without having to pull the trany completely out and have I damaged anything?

Thanks

Sounds like the torque converter is not locked in all the way, you will have to remove it again and remember to change the front seal again. it is better to replace it now then later, it may be damaged. torque converters are tricky and require at least 3 click to lock into the pump drive.
