I just updated the 6-71 and clutch in my 59 Southern Coach bus and while it was out, we took the top off the 4 sp spicer trans to inspect it. it had never jumped out of gear before. one of the small springs that the metal balls rides on under the shifter assy was broken, so I replaced it with a similar spring which was all I could find. now the trans jumps out of 4th gearoccasionally. could I have the shifter out of adjustment, or could the "new" spring be worse than the old broken one. also it has the smaller bolt pattern and shifter unit on top, is there a more current trans I could update with. Thanks Lane
