Is the v731 a 4 speed will it replace the v730 or isnt there any advantage to do a swap. is it still a 1-1 final drive. thanks.

You are still dealing with a three speed with 1-1 final drive in the V731. There isn't any advantage to doing the swap.

The ratios of the V730 and the V731 are 1st-1.77, 2nd-1.21, 3rd-.88. The V730 is mechanical and the V731 is electronic controlled. I have the V730 in a transit and it is very reliable. Course, I wish it had a couple more gears, but if you are staying with the V drive, you're sort of stuck. Good Luck, TomC
