I'm reading about Larry Wilson's cracked bellhousing. I have a 1992 Motorhome on a Chevy P-30 chassis. I bought it new. About 5 years back I had a crack in the bellhousing on the starter side. It started at a bolt hole and I thought it might have been over torqued when built. The bellhousing was replaced and transmission was rebuilt with all parts that wear. Now 5 years later and only about 25,000 miles it is cracked again. We were coming up I-95 and it sounded like everything was coming apart couldn't get above second gear. Ended up leaving vehicle at chevy truck dealer in Maryland will wait to here what's wrong. I'm sure it will get fixed $$$. What could be causing the crack. Never had any drive trane problems. Have had motor mounts replaced. At least one. Don't remember when. Any ideas?
HAVE YOUR MECHANIC INSPECT AND RELACE THE DIAL PINS ON THE ENGINE BLOCK THERE SHOULD BE 2 PLUS CHECK THE TOUQUE ON THE TRANSMISSION BELL HOUSING BOLTS MAY BE BACKING OUT FROM VIBRATION USE LOC-TITE RED
