What is the difference v730 v740 what or where can i find what is the finale drive ratioof v730 v740 vs2-8 still stuck on old bus for motorhome would like to thank Randy,& Larry for answers on questions about the vs2 trans. vs2-8 is a road trans? thanks Ron

There is no such thing as a V740. I think you mean a HT740. The HT740 is inline with the engine while the V730 is transverse like a front wheel drive car. The HT740 has four speeds, the V730 has three speeds. The final drive on all Allisons is 1:1. You can't achieve overdrive unless you get into the World transmission. Hope this helps.
