I recently purchased a 1975/76 29' vogue motorhome. Everything works except the transmission. The previous owner claims it worked when he last drove it about 5 years ago. I am pretty certain that this has the 440 engine with the 727 trans. Do you have any suggestions on where i should start in problem solving this tranny. I checked the linkage and the shifter and it seems to be fine. It has tranny fluid in it and it is pink in color. I am hoping that it is something simple to fix and that i dont have to have it towed or pull the tranny myself to take it and have it fixed. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance Jamie.
I owned a 1976 Class A Vogue.Trying to find someone in Hemet, California that can slowly restore for me. It has been sitting for seven years. One day is started and the next it did not. Some told me maybe squrrels may have eaten wires and that is why it won't start. Engine was perfect and just needed a tune up. Has low mileage. Any Ideas?
Will need lots of work now because of sitting.

Not much here accepct do a service and check pan for clutch material and METAL.. Filter can be clogged and this cause a LOW LINE PRESSURE and the symptoms are along your line, of course so is a worn out blown out tranny... and the coach did sit for 5 years for a reason and I am betting it started when his tranny went out..
Yea i changed the filter and this time i got a little just a very little hum kinda coming from the tranny...now i am goina jack the back end up off the ground and see what happens.......
