A/C Transfer Switch Charles Shelby 8-24-03
Where is the transfer switch located on a 31' M310 Dual A/c El dorado starfire motor home?

Thank you
Charles

Any idea what year this coach is? Has it been automatic transfer in the past and has quit working?

If it is hard to find there was several years that the transfer switches were hidden on the back side of the magnetek convertor. If that is where it is, you will most likely need to remove paneling to get to it. Usually the manufacturer left the wires to short to pull the unit out to work on. More information from you would be helpful as coach builders like to put these units in any free space.

Its close to the coach battreies, follow the big wires,or ot is close to the generator, or it is close to the shore power. use your jumper cables to go direct and you can find it when it starts working.

On our 1989 Fleetwood Southwind the transfer relay is behind the front panel of the power converter. You must remove the panel to access the relay. Ours automatically transfers when the generator is used. The AC from the gen set is rectified by a diode bridge to DC which picks the transfer relay and switches from shore power to the gen set. Our power converter is a Progressive Dynamics PD 7648. Yours may be different. Ours is under the refrigerator. Hope this helps in some way.

We just bought a 1987 Fleetwood Limited motorhome. We cannot find where the transfer switch is to run the a/c off the generator. We thought it was on the power converter under the bed, but that doesn't do it and the dealership didn't know where it was. Can you help us?

The AUX battery and the Main Battery compartment above the door. In what position are these switches supposed to be in when parked in an RV park and hooked directly to power...and what position when actually traveling...

Do you know where to acquire a manual for this beast 1998 Fleetwood Southwind

Thank you, Mark
