I have a 1996 Hyundai Elantra Wagon
that needs a new transmission.
The Blue Book value of the vehicle is
$3,360.00 The estimates for transmission replacement are around
$2,000.00 Do people often sell
vehicles in such a state? Will people
buy it for around $1,200 or will I have to fix it first and then sell?
Brian: Was the estimates for a new trans installed? You might check junkyards for a used one and pay someone to install it. Of course the car would sell better and faster if it was driveable. But there is always a customer for something selling, so I guess it your choice.
