I have a 97 s10 with a 4.3. does a 400 turbo tranny fit into it.

Larry, check with your local Auto Parts stores, they can cross it for you.

Is it automatic or standard? You could call a salvage yard and have it cross referenced.

The other guys that replied to your question are babbiling frikin morons. the trannys that will fit your truck if it is an automatic are turbo 350-400 with the advanced adapters transfer case adapter. A 700r4 should also bolt up if you get it out of an s10 or a full size chevy truck as long as they're 4wd.
