Post New Message If it is leaking from the "shift shaft", the reason that it leaks when stopped and not running is because much of the transmission fluid is suspended doing it's job when you are running, and when you shut it off all the fluid returns to the pan and the level raises to where it floods the shaft area and so it then it leaks out.
