|1997 MH 454 vort. pulling hill with trailer an it down shifed to 1st an quit moving,ck oil an not hot an no leaks an no move.I unhooked trailer an reved up an got moving an the upshifs worked an got to a station an found I had no Revs or 1st but other worked? Thanks|

|You have a serious internal failure. The low reverse clutch or band (can't remember) has failed. |
The metal ground off durring the failure will need to be cleaned out and the problems repaired requiring a complete removal and tear down of the transmision.

|Your rev piston failed and took out 1st u have about a week and all will fail this happened to me four times in my 97 chevy all it is is over worked rev rubber in the piston and that the rubber flouts to the frount of ur tranny and plugs the hole in the od piston or drive piston since there is one tiny hole in both then melts the retainer for the springs and u loose 1st then the rest|
